Calling All Caregivers . . .
It can be an isolating journey at times,
and fellow travelers make the best companions.

My life, as I knew it, took a dramatic change upon the diagnosis of my husband’s early-onset Alzheimers. At that very moment, everything about my life and my future going forward was in disarray. Becoming an Alzheimer caregiver was something I knew nothing about, leaving me overwhelmed with a myriad of questions such as:

What is going to happen?
Where do I start?
How am I to proceed?
Will I make it through?
What about medical expenses?
How could this be … is it really happening?

And these were only the tip of the iceburg. If you have found my site, then you are presently, or soon-to be, involved in the care of someone with Alzheimer’s or related dementias. I am sure you, too, have many questions. Each stage of the disease brings a new set of questions to handle. The answers to these questions are very important because they will determine the quality of your life, as a caregiver, along with the quality of life for the person you are caring for. I know this, because I have walked the walk, and I talk the talk.

My Life ReArranged Sue Miller front coverMY LIFE REARRANGED is written from my experience of caregiving for my husband, mother, and mother-in law, all of whom suffered from various forms of dementia. It covers my journey, along with all the stages of the disease, offers tips, and deals with the ongoing issues of love, loss, grief, responsibility, and caring for oneself. It also includes a brief section on finding tomorrow.

The journey is not an easy one, but please know you never have to take it alone; I will be right there by your side as you read My Life Rearranged helping you to find answers to your many questions. I have laid the book out in an easy-to-read, caregiver friendly style allowing the reader to “pick it up and put it down,” on their time schedule; much like the “hop on, hop off” tours.

It was my intent when I wrote this book, that through sharing my journey, it would help YOU on your journey, support YOU, offer YOU solace, and simply ease your days. Most important of all, it will remind YOU to not neglect yourself – something caregivers do all the time. This book promises to lessen the loneliness of caregiving, while bringing honest insight about the life of a caregiver.
