Where is Boompa?
This book was inspired by a planned vacation to Disneyworld that my husband, now in middle stage, would no longer be able to attend.
The dilemma was, how was I going to explain to my granddaughters why their beloved Boompa was not joining them on this adventure, when I arrived alone at the airport?
This is a short story written specifically for children who have a grandparent or relative who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. This book helps introduce children in a non-threatening manor to the disease, and some of the changes that will take place in their grandparent or relative or the months and years to come. Children are naturally resilient and non-judgmental, and this book offers ways in which they can become a meaningful part of the caregiving process.
